Vintage 1970's Meccano Set 7 in Original Box with Manuals
This is an absolutely amazing set of vintage Meccano produced in 1970 at the beginning of the Blue & Yellow Period (1970-1979). Guaranteed hours of fun and/or frustration...
Over 600 pieces to build 92 models - there looks to be one piece missing in the centre of the top tray (please check photos carefully before committing to purchase).
In its original box and complete with all manuals (Sets 1 -7) in full colour.
Glorious condition and very well cared for - the box and interior packing have slight wear commensurate with age. One corner of the polystyrene inside is broken and has an old tape repair.
A great buy at less than 50p per piece!
Meccano is a model construction system created in 1901 by Frank Hornby, a clerk from Liverpool, United Kingdom. The toy that Frank Hornby invented, “Mechanics Made Easy”, was based on the principles of mechanical engineering.
1970 saw the introduction of these new Meccano Sets in New Dark Blue Boxes based on the sets from 1962. Sets 1-7 had new manuals with very much up date models but what was so different was that these manuals were all colour. A colour illustration of the model along with colour exploded views that where shown with arrows indicating the order these should be built.
